Format ssd from bios

Something I read was a good idea for SSD drives. I was planning to use the 'Something Else' option because I want to leave 7% - 10% unallocated for overhead.

(Personally, I always use the 'Something Else' option.) Create a new GPT partition table and install with the 'Use Entire Drive' option. I had a different thought, tho.It seems to me that one person said that the bios_grub partition was created automatically by the Mint installer, when they installed in Legacy mode to a GPT drive. The partitioning format of one drive does not affect other drives in any way.Īlso, a different drive might exhibit different behavior when you try to create a bios_grub partition. Your current drive can be msdos partitioning, and any other drive you add to the system for storage can be GPT.
